Comedian Lewis Black has sued Pandora over copyright infringement.

Comedian Lewis Black sues audio streaming platform, Pandora over copyright infringement claims. It has been alleged by the Comedian that the platform used recordings of his performance without obtaining the copyright.

Black is represented by the performing rights organization, Spoken Giants although it is not a party to the suit.

"Pandora did what most goliaths do: it decided it would infringe now to ensure it had this very valuable intellectual property on its platform to remain competitive, and deal with the consequences later," writes Richard Busch, a partner at King & Ballow representing Black, in the complaint.

The complaint filed by Black reads, "Mr. Black once famously quipped in the wake of the Enron Scandal: 'You don't want another Enron? Here's your law: If a company can't explain in one sentence what it does, it's illegal.' The same thing is true here: If a Company can't explain in one sentence how it has a license to use copyrighted works, it's copyright infringement."

In response to the allegation, Pandora said that it has been correct to do so "because publishing rights for spoken-word contents have not been the industry customs."

Black has sued Pandora for $10 million over Pandora allegedly illegally streaming 68 of his works.
