In a front-running case settlement with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Deven Sangoi, a senior fund manager, and his sister, Meghana Gosar paid Rs.91 lakh.
In its August 2021 to April 2022 investigation, the capital markets regulator noted instances of front-running involving the brother-sister duo.
Sangoi, a chief investment officer at a big client, was privy to information on trades executed by the company.
SEBI observed 266 instances of trades executed by Gosar in the equity segment and 76 instances of trades in the equity derivatives segment.
