Goodwin Procter Hong Kong elevates Abhishek Krishnan to partnership

Abhishek Krishnan was promoted to partnership (private equity partner) at the International US firm – Goodwin Procter Hong Kong last month as part of a group of 33 new global partners. Abhishek is a 2009 NLSIU Bangalore graduate and had joined the firm in 2015.

Abhishek is a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity groups. He advises a wide range of corporate and private equity clients on Mergers & Acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, exits and restructurings in China, India and across Asia.

Along with the firm’s Asia chairman Yash Rana, Abhishek has been advising a who’s who of Chinese and international funds that have been placing large bets on Indian companies, such as DST and Hillhouse on Swiggy’s $1bn round in 2018, and Falcon Edge Capital on a $72m Series C round in scooter start-up Bounce.

He has advised DST Global in its Asian investments including Olacabs, Swiggy, Udaan. He has advised Falcon Edge Capital in its investments in Dailyhunt, Ola, Bounce and the National Stock Exchange and advised Vy Capital in its investments in UrbanClap and Zomato.

He had worked at Amarchand Mangaldas in Bangalore after graduating in 2009 until 2014 when he moved to Goodwin Procter in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, he has advised Wipro Limited in the demerger of its infrastructure engineering, customer care and medical diagnostics businesses divisions as also advising the Sun Group in its acquisition of SpiceJet.

He is qualified to practice in England & Wales and India.
