Aimed at providing users greater control over their information, Facebook has launched a new feature which would send a notification to users when they log into a third-party application with Facebook Login. The feature is called as “Login Notifications” and will be triggered everytime a user logs into a third-party app using Facebook Login and grants access to their information.

The users will receive notifications via their associated email and the Facebook app. The notifications will include details on all the information shared with a third-party app. Once a notification is received, the user can click on the Edit Settings button to remove the app’s access to his/her personal information.

Facebook will also notify users when they re-use Facebook Login to log into a third-party application after the app’s access to information expires.

The notification will help users detect unlicensed access or use of their credentials, but will also help educate them about the data they’re sharing with these apps.
