Sandeep Chowdhury joins Suzlon as Sr. Vice President & Group General Counsel
Former Sr. Vice President and Group General Counsel of HCC, Sandeep Chowdhury has joined Suzlon as Sr. Vice President & Group General Counsel.
In a Press Release, Suzlon announced the appointment and stated, “Suzlon's journey of growth and excellence where People, Capabilities and Culture will be our enablers to define the path. As a continuous process of strengthening and building the organisation for the futuristic opportunities and challenges we continue to invest in the best talent. We are happy to announce an addition to our Corporate team Sandeep Chowdhury, who will join us as the Sr. Vice President & Group General Counsel.”
Sandeep is seasoned legal professional having a unique experience of working with Solicitors Firm, Service Industry, Retail/FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Agro-chemical Industry. He has worked with US MNCs and Fortune 100 companies at senior levels specialising on litigation, advisory, M&As, anti-trust/competition laws, taxation, labour, IP laws, FCPA compliance and investigations. He has supervised team of lawyers, worked with renowned law firms and accountable for the legal budget.
Prior to HCC, he has worked with ANI Technologies Ltd. (OLA), Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd. (formerly Lafarge India Ltd), UPL Ltd, Advanta Seeds (a Group Company of UPL Ltd), Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. ,Baxter International Inc., Bharati Wal-Mart Pvt Ltd, Messar & Khaitan & Co., Kolkata, India . Sandeep holds a LL.B (Hons) from Calcutta University.
In his role as General Counsel at Suzlon, Sandeep will be responsible for providing strategic legal leadership on Legal function to management, setting up strong internal governance policies and stakeholder engagement, ensuring areas of risk and building a high standard of legal compliance across the businesses of Suzlon group. His insights and leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping Suzlon’s Legal practices and compliances.
In this role Sandeep will report to Group CEO, J P Chalasani and he will work closely with Group CFO, Himanshu Mody. All employees in legal function who have been reporting to Himanshu Mody in the interim, would now report to directly to Sandeep. All State, Regional and Area legal employees will have functional reporting to Sandeep.
