Elias Chedid is the managing partner of Chedid Law Offices, operating in association with Dentons in Beirut. Bringing a wealth of international experience, he spent a decade working with prestigious law firms across New York, Paris, and Dubai before returning to lead his family’s 60-year-old practice. His diverse expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, energy, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), government and regulatory matters, as well as international arbitration.
Holding dual Lebanese and French citizenship, Elias has been a member of the Beirut Bar since 1998, the New York State Bar since 2001, and the Paris Bar since 2002. He graduated top of his class with an LLB in French and Lebanese law from Saint-Joseph University Law School in Lebanon in 1997. Awarded a French government scholarship, he earned a Master’s degree (D.E.A) in Private Law with honours from the University of Paris 1 – Sorbonne in 1998. Furthering his studies in the United States, Elias received his LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 2000, where he also contributed as a staff member to the Harvard Negotiation Law Review.
Beyond his legal practice, Elias has held notable leadership roles, including serving as President of the Harvard Club of France from 2006 to 2008, and currently as Vice President of the Sorbonne Law School Alumni Association of Lebanon. His professional focus encompasses arbitration, banking and finance, capital markets, corporate law, employment and labor, energy, government and public services, hospitality, media, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate, and technology. Elias’s blend of international insight and local expertise positions him as a leading figure in the Lebanese legal landscape and beyond.
