Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas assists Adani Energy Solutions on Khavda–South Olpad HVDC Project contract

The leading law firm in India, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas assisted Adani Energy Solutions Limited (“AESL”) in reviewing, negotiating, and finalising a contract with GE Vernova T&D India Limited for the design and establishment of a 2,500 MW ±500 KV high voltage direct current (“HVDC”) voltage source converter (“VSC”) terminal station (2x1,250 MW) for evacuation of renewable power between KPS 3 (Khavda) and the South Olpad project (“Khavda-South Olpad HVDC Project”).

With a capacity of 2,500 MW, this project is the highest-rated VSC-based HVDC system envisaged in India to date and is a key initiative in supporting India’s green energy transition by building robust infrastructure for renewable power transmission.

The Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas transaction team was led by Aniket Singhania (Partner), and supported by Jagrati Maru and Shreyansh Anchalia (Associates). AESL’s in-house legal team included Dr. Rajesh Sehgal (Chief Legal Officer), Arjit Singh (Lead Legal), and Urja Thakkar (Deputy Manager).
