Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas advised Alpha Wave Global on USD 1 Billion investment in Nxtra Data Limited

The leading law firm in India, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) acted as legal counsel to Alpha Wave Global in connection with its investment in Nxtra Data Limited, alongside global investors Carlyle and Anchorage Capital, and Bharti Airtel Limited. The transaction represents one of the largest investments in India’s data centre sector, with a total investment of USD 1 billion (USD 435 million by Alpha Wave, USD 240 million by Carlyle, USD 35 million by Anchorage Capital, and USD 290 million by Airtel).

Nxtra, the data centre arm of Airtel, is a key player in India’s digital infrastructure landscape, holding a significant share of the country’s data centre capacity with a growing nationwide footprint.

The SAM transaction team was led by Raghubir Menon (Regional Practice Head – M&A and Private Equity), Taranjeet Singh (Partner), Kushal Sinha (Partner), and Dhrupad Pant (Partner), with support from Ishita Sehgal (Principal Associate), Hetal Doshi (Associate), and Mihira Jaggi (Associate).
