The transaction, valued at approximately INR 9,403 crores, involves complex structuring, governance, and regulatory aspects and has triggered an open offer under Indian takeover regulations.
This proposed acquisition marks a significant move in the Indian paints and coatings sector, combining a global legacy brand with a fast-growing domestic player. As part of the transaction, Trilegal advised on vendor diligence, transition planning, intellectual property arrangements, and regulatory approvals required under Indian law.
The transaction, once completed, is expected to redefine the competitive landscape in the sector and significantly strengthen JSW Paints’ position in the Indian market.
