Bowmans Promotes Brian Mambosho, Edwin Prosper and Jacques Liebenberg to Partnership
The leading pan-African law firm, Bowmans, has announced the promotion of Brian Mambosho, Edwin Prosper, and Jacques Liebenberg to its partnership, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to developing internal talent and strengthening its pan-African leadership bench.

The promotions form part of Bowmans’ broader employee value proposition aimed at ensuring its people remain motivated, engaged, and valued as they progress professionally within the organisation.
Brian Mambosho has been promoted to Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Dar es Salaam. Prior to his promotion, he served as a Senior Associate at Bowmans and previously worked with Clyde & Co, where he gained extensive experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. His practice focuses on complex disputes and litigation matters.
Speaking on his promotion, Mambosho said,

Edwin Prosper has been elevated to Partner in the firm’s Tax practice in Tanzania. Before joining Bowmans, he worked with KPMG East Africa as a Senior Tax Consultant. Prosper brings extensive experience in taxation and advisory services and holds multiple professional qualifications including ACCA, CPA (T), and ADIT in international taxation.
Commenting on the appointments, Michael Strain, Managing Partner of Bowmans Tanzania, said,

He added that both Brian and Edwin had earned their promotions through years of hard work, sound judgement, and commitment to clients and colleagues.
Meanwhile, Jacques Liebenberg has been promoted to Partner in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice in Johannesburg. Liebenberg joined Bowmans in 2017 and has steadily progressed through the firm, most recently serving as Senior Associate. During his tenure, he also completed an international secondment with Hengeler Mueller in Düsseldorf, gaining experience in M&A and equity capital markets matters.
Reflecting on his promotion, Liebenberg said,
