Norton Rose Fulbright Announces Farmida Bi’s Re-Election as Chair of EMEA

She will assume her term with effect from May 1st for three years

International law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that Farmida Bi, CBE has been elected as Chair for Europe, Middle East, and Asia (EMEA) for a third term.

A Partner in the banking and finance team and head of Islamic finance in Europe, Farmida Bi will be involved in a range of strategic priorities, including supporting the firm’s clients and practices, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainability, and community engagement.

Peter Scott, the firm’s EMEA managing partner stated, “I congratulate Farmida on her third term as our regional Chair, which is richly deserved. She has made several positive contributions to our firm and our communities, including the creation of our unique partnership with Save the Children UK.”

Speaking on her re-election, Farmida expressed, “I’m thrilled to continue as Chair and thank everyone at the firm for their support. It is an honor to continue working with our people, clients, and charity and community partners to drive forward a range of client, DEI, and social impact initiatives.”

Farmida Bi has over 25 years of experience in capital markets and Islamic finance transactions. She advises clients on varied practices including sovereign bonds and programs, Islamic finance, project bonds, restructurings, and regulatory issues.
