Ravi Mittal has been chosen to be the next chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). The post had been vacant since September 30 last, when Dr. MS Sahoo retired after completing his five-year tenure.
During the interim period, Navrang Saini, a whole-time member of IBBI had been given the additional charge as the chairperson.
The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved the appointment of Mittal, a former secretary at the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The position is for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65, whichever is earlier.
