JetBlue has announced the promotion of Renée Anckner as the airline's Vice President and Associate General Counsel.

She will serve as the company's principal compliance and privacy officer and will remain the primary counsel for the commercial and infrastructure departments with respect to transactional, corporate, and contractual matters. Anckner will also support the firm and its board of directors as assistant secretary.

Brandon Nelson, the General Counsel, and corporate secretary at JetBlue said, "Our culture is like no other and it all comes down to our crew members. I look forward to supporting my clients as we position ourselves to become the fifth-largest carrier in the US.

"Anckner has been an instrumental asset to JetBlue. She has a strong background in driving compliance strategy and risk awareness, as well as crafting and managing effective policies. Her leadership and counsel will be invaluable as JetBlue continues to grow."

Anckner, who will continue to report to Nelson, remarked, "I am honored to step into this role as we enter a new chapter of growth at the airline. I look forward to supporting my clients."

She joined JetBlue in 2017 as director, corporate counsel, Infrastructure, Properties & Development. She has been leading in-house counsel for major infrastructure projects, including the recent partnership for the expansion and redevelopment of Terminals 6 and 7 at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Her responsibilities have included oversight of JetBlue's contract review policy, management of privacy program, ethics, and compliance team. In addition, Anckner provides legal support to the firm's cobrand credit card portfolio agreements. Earlier, she served as outside counsel to the company. She practiced commercial and product liability litigation at law firms in New York, including as a partner at McCarter & English.

JetBlue is New York's Hometown Airline and a leading carrier in Boston, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Juan. It carries customers to over 100 destinations throughout the US, Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada, and United Kingdom.
