Maharashtra Tax Department Attaches Aarti Drugs’ Bank Accounts Over Rs.13.36 Crore Liability

The company plans to challenge it before the Commissioner of State Tax, Mumbai

Aarti Drugs Limited has received an order from the Office of the Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Investigation-B, Mumbai, for provisional attachment of its bank accounts in the Union Bank of India and the State Bank of India

Under Section 83 of the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax (MGST) Act, 2017, the order claimed a tax liability of Rs.213.36 crore, along with interest and penalty under Section 74(5), for voluntary payment.

The company stated, “Aarti Drugs will file an objection against this order before the Commissioner of State Tax, Mumbai.”
