Rajiv Luthra, the Founder and Managing Partner of L&L Partners has dissolved the litigation arm of the firm.

He sent dissolution notices to the firm's existing equity partners Bobby Chandhoke and Sudhir Sharma. Also, the heirs of Vijay Sondhi (who died of a heart attack early this year) had recently demanded that they be inducted into the equity partnership of the firm. They too have been intimated about the same.

Over the past year, the equity partners were engaged in discussions to merge the two firms (corporate and litigation) to create a single entity. The move seems to be the first step towards making that plan a reality.

Along with Mohit Saraf, Luthra, Chandhoke, Sharma and Sondhi, had set up the litigation firm in 2003. It was then named Luthra & Luthra Law Offices.

Meanwhile, Saraf has moved the Delhi High Court seeking the appointment of an arbitrator to resolve the disputes arising out of his 11.12 percent share in the litigation firm. Saraf exited from the firm last year and an arbitral tribunal is already deciding the disputes between him and Luthra.

Saraf has now prayed for the appointment of former Supreme Court judge, Justice Deepak Gupta to resolve the disputes.
