The Nivaaran - Mediators of Supreme Court of India: 20th Lecture On “View From Halfway Up The Mediation Mountain” was conducted on 7 April 2023 in which Andrew Miller KC was the Guest Speaker and was moderated by Senior Advocate – Supreme Court of India, Rajiv Dutta.

Rajiv Dutta is a Senior Advocate practising in the Supreme Court of India. He is also Arbitrator & Mediator Fellow - Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London) and Fellow - Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand Inc (AMINZ).

Andrew Miller KC spoke on the following:

• An overview of the Mediation World both during the Covid pandemic and post-pandemic.

• The education of mediation for lawyers and users of mediation.

• The big secret of mediation – no longer being a secret. The increased use of mediation for international disputes.

• The drive towards mandatory mediation for commercial disputes by governments. The change in the practice of mediation by mediators.

Andrew Miller KC regularly speaks about mediation in the UK and internationally. Over the last two years he has been involved with a series of workshops and seminars in India and the judging of several of the prestigious Mediation and Negotiation competitions held in India. He was earlier invited to speak at the Supreme Court of India on Mediation and its relationship with Litigation and the relationship between mediators and litigators in January 2020.
