Shameek Chaudhuri and Arvind Ramesh have announced the establishment of their own law firm Vritti Law Partners. With an office in Mumbai, the plan is to later expand its footprint to New Delhi and other Indian cities.

In a statement, the newly-launched firm stated, “The term ‘Vritti’ in Sanskrit means levels of thought or streams of consciousness. This forms the core of the firm, as it aims to provide credible and quality solutions, breaking complex problems and presenting simple solutions.

“The firm intends to achieve its core values through critical analysis, an understanding of India’s regulatory framework, and extensive research. It is built on the core principles of being equitable to all stakeholders by a predictable and credible organization. It intends to implement a transparent, cohesive, and equitable partnership."

On setting up the firm, Shameek remarked, “We intend to create an equitable and transparent institution, where ‘we’ will always be greater than the ‘I’. Given our expertise and experience, the firm would be uniquely positioned to provide credible and quality solutions to our clients.”

Ramesh commented, “We aim to set up a democratic partnership, which is driven by objectivity and merit. We intend to strengthen the existing relationships and build new ones across both clients and the people we work with, in a manner that is sustainable and credible for everyone involved.”

A 2008 graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Shameek has previously worked at ICICI Bank. He specializes in corporate M&A and banking and finance. He served at Dua Associates, and in 2004 joined AZB & Partners.

A graduate of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad, Ramesh has been the trusted advisor to various private equity funds, and insurance companies on joint ventures, M&A, and restructurings. He has previously worked with Deloitte India, KPMG India, and AZB & Partners.
