Sheetal Sawhney Kapur who was working with Google India, has joined Netflix as the company’s Senior Counsel and Director-Legal. She would be involved in lead business partnerships and transactions.
At Google, she advised on structuring products from a legal and regulatory standpoint for the Indian and West Asian markets. Her work also involved dealing with privacy and data protection, regulatory liaisoning/licensing, M&A, FinTech & payments projects, geographic projects, telecom & broadcasting projects, and various other government-led initiatives.
Sheetal moved to Google from PayU where she was working as Head - Legal, Regulatory and Compliance. She has been widely regarded as a pioneer in the sunrise sector of Payments Law in India. She has also worked in the M&A and private equity practice at JSA. She holds an LLM from the University of Melbourne and an LLB from ILS Law College, Pune.
Sheetal is an Executive Committee Member - Privacy and Data Protection of the Indian National Bar Association. She was awarded the “Women In-House Counsel of the Year 2017 - Legal and Regulatory” at the 68th Constitutional Awards by the Indian National Bar Association.
