David has been instrumental in leading the firm’s Abu Dhabi office and strengthening its International Dispute Resolution practice.
A seasoned disputes practitioner, David brings over a decade of experience advising on complex, high-value commercial disputes before the DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts, the English High Court, and leading international arbitral institutions including ICC, LCIA, DIAC, and UNCITRAL. He regularly represents corporations, national oil companies, government entities, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals across the Middle East, the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. David has also acted against sovereign states in the enforcement of arbitration awards and in expert determinations under inter-state treaties.
David has worked on some of the most high-profile cases in recent years, including representing a Russian national in defence of a £2 billion freezing injunction, a leading figure in the crypto industry in claims exceeding £10 billion, a UK government entity in a multi-billion-pound procurement claim, and a Russian state-owned entity in a £13 billion claim. In addition to litigation, he advises clients on dispute avoidance strategies to mitigate potential risks.
Prior to joining ADG Legal, David worked at King & Spalding, Herbert Smith Freehills, and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang. He graduated top of his class in law and was awarded the Drapers’ Company Prize for academic excellence, reflecting his dedication to both scholarship and practice.
