The full-service global law firm, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune is pleased to announce the promotion of Keisuke Suzuki, Sho Ando, Tatsuhiko Makino, and Yoshiyuki Kitajima to Partner, recognising their exceptional expertise and leadership across key practice areas.
Keisuke Suzuki – Partner: Keisuke advises on a broad range of matters across energy and natural resources, project finance (including PFI), and corporate restructuring, alongside related disputes. He is deeply involved in the renewables ecosystem, supporting domestic and international clients on onshore and offshore wind projects, corporate PPAs / VPPAs, and BESS (battery energy storage systems). Keisuke’s practice benefits from his policy and market perspective, gained during his secondment to the Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Commission under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), helping clients navigate both legal and practical market realities. He holds an LL.M. (Distinction) from King’s College London and completed an international secondment at Pinsent Masons, Sydney, giving him a global perspective on complex energy and infrastructure projects.
Sho Ando – Partner: Sho specialises in labor and employment law, advising Japanese and international clients on day-to-day HR matters, high-stakes employment disputes, and labor union negotiations. He is also experienced in employment compliance investigations, including sensitive matters involving harassment and misappropriation of confidential information. Sho brings a distinctive approach by connecting employment law to broader business realities, regularly supporting M&A and carve-out transactions where employment matters affect deal timing and integration success. His practice spans data privacy, AI/HR technology, economic security, and corporate pension law. Sho holds an LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law and has completed a compliance secondment in New York. He has been recognised by The Best Lawyers in Japan™ / Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Japan™ (2026 Edition).
Tatsuhiko Makino – Partner: Tatsuhiko focuses on cross-border dispute resolution, with particular expertise in (re)insurance and international construction projects. He handles large, multi-jurisdiction insurance and reinsurance disputes and transactions, including complex claims, reinsurance contract negotiations, and coordinated strategies with overseas counsel. He advises across the lifecycle of overseas construction projects, from FIDIC-based contract drafting and bid documentation to delay resolution and dispute management. Tatsuhiko is known for his practical, business-minded advocacy, conducting English-language negotiations and hearings with a global outlook shaped by his experience in Singapore (including WongPartnership LLP) and his role as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
Yoshiyuki Kitajima – Partner: Yoshiyuki has substantial experience in M&A, including going-private transactions via takeover bids, business integrations among listed companies, carve-outs, and business successions. He also advises on shareholders’ meetings and general corporate matters, helping management teams navigate high-stakes governance moments. He holds an LL.M. (Business Law Track) from UCLA, has experience at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, New York, and is qualified in Japan and New York. Yoshiyuki combines strategic insight with execution discipline to guide clients through complex, high-impact transactions.
Anderson Mori & Tomotsune congratulate Keisuke Suzuki, Sho Ando, Tatsuhiko Makino, and Yoshiyuki Kitajima on their well-deserved promotions and look forward to their continued leadership in advising clients on complex energy, labor, corporate, and cross-border disputes and transactions.
