Global law firm Baker McKenzie has announced that Benjamin Kelly has rejoined the firm as a Partner in its Intellectual Property Practice in Dallas.

Benjamin Kelly is a highly skilled trial attorney with nearly two decades of experience counselling and successfully leading clients through all stages of litigation. He has managed or led numerous significant disputes involving publicly traded and privately held companies in complex commercial matters with material damages claims. Notably, Ben has deep experience handling high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional patent and trade secret disputes involving advanced technologies.

Throughout his career, Ben has represented clients in federal and state courts across the United States, in international arbitrations, and on appeal—often cross-examining experts, executives and senior management on complex scientific, technical and damages issues.

Welcoming his return, Will Woods, Chair of the Firm’s Americas Commercial Practice, said,

“Ben is a trusted and respected colleague whose return will further elevate our IP litigation capabilities. His deep technical background, collaborative spirit, and proven track record with our clients make him an invaluable addition as we continue to grow our practice.”

Michelle Hartmann, Managing Partner of the Texas offices, said,

“We are thrilled to welcome Ben back to the Dallas office. His return is not only a win for our clients but also for our team culture. Ben’s leadership and mentorship will be instrumental in developing our next generation of IP litigators.”

Baker McKenzie maintains one of the world’s largest full-service IP litigation and trade disputes practices, combining local IP and commercial knowledge with global cross-border experience. The firm’s team advises companies across diverse sectors including technology; consumer goods and retail (including luxury and fashion); energy and infrastructure; financial services; healthcare and life sciences; and industrial, manufacturing and transportation—offering comprehensive support across brand management and enforcement, IP disputes including patent litigation and prosecution, copyright, plant variety rights (PVR) protection, designs, trade secrets, IP transactions, tax and broader strategic IP advisory.

Ben’s return marks the latest in a series of strategic partner additions to Baker McKenzie’s Intellectual Property team, following the arrivals of partners Indradeep Bhattacharya (London), Celia Cheah (Kuala Lumpur), Christa Anderson (Washington, DC), Keo McKenzie (Washington, DC) and Justin Becker (Washington, DC).

Sharing his excitement, Benjamin Kelly said,

“Baker McKenzie feels like home, and I am thrilled to return so I can work with its standout team and further elevate the Firm’s IP and commercial litigation offerings for clients.”

Ben holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and a JD from the University of Texas School of Law.
