Christopher Richardson Joins Paul Hastings as Partner in Houston to Further Strengthen Global Energy & Infrastructure Practice
Paul Hastings LLP has announced the addition of Christopher Richardson as a partner in its Houston office, marking another milestone in the firm’s ongoing expansion of its premier global Energy and Infrastructure platform and growing Texas presence.
Richardson brings more than two decades of experience in energy and infrastructure transactions and projects, having previously served as CEO of 8 Rivers Capital and as head of the Energy & Infrastructure Project Development and Finance section for the Americas at White & Case, where he was a founding partner of that firm’s Houston office. His international experience includes roles across Asia and the Middle East, including as general counsel for an international oil and gas company.
Frank Lopez, Chair of Paul Hastings said.
"We continue to expand the capabilities of our premier energy and infrastructure platform globally and in Texas with top-tier talent, Chris’ addition alongside our highly successful U.S. and international teams represents another strong boost to our practice as we deepen client relationships and increase market share across the E&I space."
At Paul Hastings, Richardson will focus on strategic joint ventures, complex project development and financing, M&A, corporate matters, and commercial contracts spanning the entire energy value chain, including oil and gas, energy transition, LNG, chemicals, power and infrastructure.
I could not be more excited to be part of the phenomenal cross-border energy and infrastructure team here at Paul Hastings," said Richardson.
"The positive momentum is palpable, and I can’t wait to work with this extraordinarily talented team to provide our clients with the strategic advice and support they need to execute their most complex energy and infrastructure projects and transactions globally."
Richardson’s appointment follows the recent expansion of Paul Hastings’ energy and infrastructure capabilities in Abu Dhabi, London and Paris with the addition of partners Din Eshanov, George Kazakov, Xavier Petet, Ibaad Hakim, Stefan Mrozinski, Habeeb Rahman and Benoit Thirion. Over the past 18 months, the firm has grown its Texas headcount from 30 to nearly 100 lawyers and recently moved into a new Houston office as it continues to build its local offering.
