DLA Piper has significantly strengthened its corporate and finance teams in London by hiring three energy-focused partners from Paul Hastings and Brown Rudnick.

M&A partner Steven Bryan and finance partner Derwin Jenkinson join directly from Paul Hastings, while Paul Doris, specialising in M&A, private equity, and private capital transactions, comes from Brown Rudnick. He will be joining in early March.

"These new appointments will significantly enhance our bench strength across corporate, finance, project restructuring, infrastructure, and energy sectors," said Benjamin Parameswaran, global co-chair of DLA Piper's corporate group. "Both Steven and Paul are highly respected leaders with extensive experience in these areas."

Bryan, who previously led Paul Hastings' London energy, natural resources, and infrastructure group, brings expertise in advising investment funds and corporate sponsors on domestic and cross-border M&A deals. His specific experience covers power and utilities, digital infrastructure, midstream energy, transportation, and social infrastructure. He had transitioned to the firm in 2019 from Hogan Lovells.

Jenkinson, with prior experience at Ashurst and Clifford Chance, boasts a strong track record in advising on high-profile matters across various energy and infrastructure sectors. His expertise includes various financing aspects, including acquisition and term debt, project finance, capital markets, and restructurings.

Doris, who worked at Dentons and Orrick before Brown Rudnick, brings valuable experience in UK and international M&A, private equity, and private capital transactions. His particular focus on renewable energy transactions aligns well with DLA Piper's commitment to ESG initiatives and strategy.

"Derwin's impressive experience in infrastructure financing perfectly complements our existing strengths in this area," said Colin Wilson, global co-chair of DLA Piper's FPR group. "These hires further bolster our capabilities in key sectors, and we are confident they will contribute significantly to the firm's continued success."
