Stephenson Harwood, the UK-based global law firm, has announced the promotion of 11 lawyers to its partnership, with Emily Aryeetey and Saif Almobideen, both based in Dubai, being among them. The promotions will take effect from 1 May 2023.

Eifion Morris, the CEO of Stephenson Harwood, praised the 11 promotions, stating that these accomplished lawyers have shown their dedication and leadership by providing exceptional support to the firm's clients.

“We have ambitious plans to grow our business, ensuring we provide the commercially-focused advice our clients expect, across the full life-cycle of their business needs. That growth is focused on five key sectors – decarbonisation, life sciences, private capital and funds, technology and transportation and trade. I’m pleased that so many of this cohort align with those areas,” Eifion Morris said.

In addition, Eifion Morris expressed his delight at welcoming newly promoted partners from various locations in the firm's network, including Dubai, London, Paris, and Singapore.

Saif Almobideen has been appointed as a partner in the marine and international trade group at the firm. Based in Dubai, Almobideen is a bilingual civil-law qualified lawyer with extensive experience in handling complex cross-border disputes before civil-law Courts in the Middle East region.

He specialises in matters related to shipping, insurance, crisis management, commodities and trade finance, as well as the enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitration awards.

Emily Aryeetey has been appointed as a partner in the employment, pensions, and private wealth group at the firm. Based in Dubai and qualified in England & Wales, Aryeetey focuses on cross-border and multidisciplinary employment law.

Her practice includes advising clients on whistleblowing investigations and disputes in the UAE courts, company acquisitions, bonuses, workplace savings, benefits and incentives, as well as employee data matters.

“Accelerating the expansion of the work of our international offices is a strategic priority for the business, ensuring we provide the commercially focused advice our clients expect, in the locations they need. We’ve already been bolstering our numbers internationally, through a sustained campaign of attracting lateral partner hires. Around half of our lateral hires since the start of 2021 have been based outside of London,” the Stephenson Harwood CEO further added.
