London headquartered international law firm Allen & Overy is further bolstering its Asia-Pacific Funds & Asset Management group with the appointment of Huaying Daisy Qi (Daisy), as a partner based in its Shanghai office.

Recognised as a leading individual in the area of investment funds by IFLR 1000, Chambers & Partners, and the Legal 500, Daisy is a renowned lawyer in the Chinese legal market.

She has extensive experience in advising Chinese and international clients on the formation and operation of domestic and international investment funds. She received her LL.B. and Master of Laws degrees from Peking University and her J.D. degree from Columbia University.

Daisy will join Allen & Overy's market-leading global Funds & Asset Management group, which provides a full-service offering to fund managers and institutional investors. She will be working with clients active in venture capital, private equity and other alternative asset strategies, including real estate, credit and infrastructure.

Allen & Overy boasts asset management, tax, regulatory, litigation and dispute resolution professionals in all of the major financial centres across the UK, Europe, the US, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region, offering global coverage across the full fund life-cycle.

"It's been a significant development for the China practice. Daisy will be the key dedicated funds partner based in mainland China. Her appointment will further strengthen our market-leading offerings in the PRC market," Yvonne Ho, managing partner of the Beijing and Shanghai offices, said.

James Ford, Co-head of the Asia Pacific Funds and Asset Management group, commented: "Daisy's impressive track record and depth of experience will greatly strengthen our capability across the APAC region, especially in China. We are thrilled to have her on board as we continue to enhance our pre-eminent fund offering in support of our clients' needs".

Matt Huggett, Global Head of Allen & Overy's Funds & Asset Management group, added: "We have seen high levels of activity across all asset classes and will continue growing our offering to clients in the APAC region. Daisy's addition to our Funds & Asset Management group complements our global offering where we have market-leading teams across key financial hubs in the UK, Europe, Luxembourg, the US, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East. Her expertise will be of great interest and value to our clients."
