Multinational law firm Hogan Lovells has announced the joining of Brad Edmister as a partner in its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice, based in New York, in its Corporate & Finance practice group.

Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: "Our global M&A practice is growing in stature as we continue to advise our clients on some of their most complex and consequential transactions. We are now recognized by Chambers USA and Chambers Asia Pacific 2022 as an 'elite firm' in transactional work."

Doyle said that the firm was thrilled to have Brad Edmister join its M&A practice and said that Edmister's credentials are impressive and will bolster the cross-border M&A practice in New York whilst at the same time enhancing M&A capabilities for Japanese outbound transactions.

Edmister has joined Hogan Lovells from Morgan Lewis where he was a prominent cross-border deal maker and led its Japan capital markets practice. With a deep affinity for Japanese culture, he has extensive experience advising US, Japanese, and other Asian clients in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He is also one of the preeminent advisors to J-REITs and listed Japanese infrastructure funds.

Commenting, Edmister said: "I am delighted to join the Corporate and Finance practice at Hogan Lovells at an exciting stage in its development. I have long been impressed by the firm's collaborative culture and global platform which I know will greatly benefit the clients."

The firm's M&A practice is comprised of more than 500 lawyers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Over the past four years, Hogan Lovells has advised on more than US$660 billion in M&A transactions worldwide, representing entities, principals, and financial advisors in almost 900 public and private transactions.
