Johnson Stokes & Master Elevates Five Lawyers to Partner and Counsel Roles

The Hong Kong-based law firm Johnson Stokes & Master (JSM) has announced the promotion of five lawyers to partner and counsel, effective 1 January 2026. The promotions include Cheryl Law and Johnson Ng as partners, and Jacqueline Liu, Sally Wong, and Janice Yip as counsel. This marks the firm’s second round of promotions since its relaunch on 2 December 2024, reflecting JSM’s commitment to nurturing talent and recognising professional excellence.

  • Cheryl Law – Real Estate

Cheryl is a partner in JSM’s Real Estate practice in Hong Kong. She has over 15 years of experience advising property developers and institutional investors on a wide range of real estate matters, including acquisitions and disposals (by asset or share transactions), joint ventures, commercial leasing, property management, project conveyancing, and other commercial and property matters. She also advises hotel owners on hotel management agreements and operational issues in Hong Kong, Greater China, and Southeast Asia. Cheryl speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

  • Johnson Ng – Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Johnson is a partner in JSM’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Hong Kong. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration, banking and security enforcement disputes, shareholders and partnership disputes, tenancy and real estate disputes, defamation, cryptocurrency-related disputes, international trade disputes, contractual disputes, and bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings. Johnson is a solicitor-advocate with Higher Rights of Audience (HRA) in civil proceedings in both Hong Kong and England & Wales, and an accredited general mediator (HKMAAL).

  • Jacqueline Liu – Real Estate Finance

Jacqueline is a counsel in JSM’s Real Estate Finance practice in Hong Kong, advising banks and financial institutions on real estate-related financing and secured/unsecured lending transactions. She has experience in loan financing for share acquisitions in property holding companies, acquisition of new land, project development (including MTRC and URA developments), and general conveyancing. Jacqueline speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

  • Sally Wong – Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Sally is a counsel specialising in personal injury litigation, particularly medical negligence claims. She advises healthcare professionals, including doctors, dentists, and physiotherapists, in civil, criminal, and disciplinary matters, and assists public and private hospitals in Hong Kong. She has experience with Medical Council, Dental Council, and Council on Human Reproductive Technology inquiries, investigations, and inquests. Sally speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

  • Janice Yip – Corporate & Securities

Janice is a counsel in JSM’s Corporate & Securities practice in Hong Kong, advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity transactions. She also drafts and negotiates joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, and other corporate and commercial matters. Janice is admitted in Hong Kong and speaks fluent English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
