The leading international law firm Jones Day has appointed Amanda Fitzsimmons as a partner in its Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice, based in the Firm’s San Diego office. The strategic hire enhances the Firm’s capabilities in complex litigation, data protection, and cybersecurity advisory across multiple industries.

Fitzsimmons brings over 15 years of experience as both an in-house legal executive and a partner at a global law firm. Prior to joining Jones Day, she served as Head of Legal at Salt Security, a growth-stage cybersecurity company, and as Director and Associate General Counsel at Coinbase, where she scaled and led the company’s commercial litigation team. She has advised executive teams on emerging legal issues at the intersection of cybersecurity and data protection, including AI regulation, third-party risk management, and global privacy compliance.

Amanda Fitzsimmons earned her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. She began her career as a law clerk to the Hon. Michael Anello of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Fitzsimmons is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).
