International law firm Dentons Rodyk has announced its first partner hire of the year by appointing Linda Bai in the private wealth, family office and tax practices.

With a focus on China clients, the selection of the Chinese-qualified lawyer confirms its strategy to further its success with an increasing and effective pool of talent.

Bai is part of the firm's regional practice as a foreign lawyer. She is also familiar with Singapore’s corporate laws. Pursuing qualifications to be dual-qualified in Singapore and Chinese laws, until recently, she was working as head of the China client practice at Taxise Asia.

Commenting on her appointment, Loh Kia Meng, the COO and co-head of the regional practice at Dentons Rodyk’s remarked, “Bai’s much anticipated appointment gives an added dimension to our firm’s already proficient Chinese law capabilities and further strengthens our ability to provide integrated solutions to clients from China investing into Singapore and beyond.”

Bai added, “I am very excited about the opportunity to work with top legal minds from all across the globe in the world’s largest law firms.”

Bai obtained her master’s in law (LLM) degree in 2014 from the National University of Singapore. She has over a decade of experience in serving the needs of Chinese clients relating to Singapore.

She advises high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth and estate management and tax. Bai also guides corporate entities on investing outside China (using Singapore as a base), including appropriate corporate structures for tax efficiency.
