Linklaters Appoints Richard Ginks as Global Head of Energy & Infrastructure

Linklaters has announced the appointment of Richard Ginks as the new Global Head of Energy & Infrastructure, effective 1 May 2025. He succeeds Daniel Tyrer, who has successfully led the practice group since 2019 and will now return to full-time client work.

The firm’s global energy & infrastructure practice specialises in large-scale, award-winning, and market-leading transactions worldwide across the full spectrum of the energy and infrastructure sectors — including renewables, energy transition technologies, digital infrastructure, transportation, nuclear, oil and gas, and mining.

Richard Ginks, a partner in the team since 2007, has been based in London and Singapore. He advises sponsors and funders on the development, financing, and acquisition/sale of energy and infrastructure assets, with a particular focus on the renewable energy and wider energy transition sectors.

Andy Vickery, Global Head of Finance, said,

"We're delighted to have Richard Ginks lead our Energy & Infrastructure practice. Richard's extensive expertise will drive our focus across these critical and growing sectors. We thank Daniel Tyrer for his outstanding leadership since 2019 and we look forward to Richard steering the practice toward continued success."

Richard Ginks said,

"I am very excited and privileged to take on the role of Global Head of Energy & Infrastructure. The energy and infrastructure sector is rapidly evolving, driven by energy transition, energy security and powering data, and provides enormous opportunity. I look forward to working with our market leading team at the cutting edge of these sectors to continue to deliver innovative solutions for our clients globally."
