Peter Anagnostou Joins Gowling WLG in UAE

International law firm Gowling WLG has reinforced its international arbitration practice and disputes team by appointing international construction lawyer, Peter Anagnostou in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The firm recently added partners in Germany and France. The appointment of Anagnostou strengthens its presence in key markets and underscores the commitment to provide top-tier legal services globally.

On his joining, Gordon Bell, the head of international arbitration at Gowling WLG expressed, “Anagnostou’s extensive experience enhances our international arbitration practice in the Middle East, complementing our wider disputes offering. We are excited to welcome him to the team and build on our success in Europe.”

Meanwhile, Tim Casben, the head of Gowling WLG’s Middle East offices emphasized the significance of Anagnostou’s appointment in strengthening the firm’s presence in the region’s construction and international arbitration sectors. He highlighted the importance of the new entrant’s role in driving forward the practice areas and supporting the firm’s growth across the UAE and the wider region.

With over a decade of experience in advising global contractors, developers, and government bodies in the Middle East, Anagnostou’s expertise spans commercial litigation and international arbitration.

He dealt in significant international arbitrations on major projects, infrastructure, and residential developments across the Middle East. The notable cases included the construction of a major shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, a master plan development in Qatar, a museum in Dubai, an international airport project, and a marquee recreational project in Dubai.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Anagnostou stated, “I am delighted to join Gowling WLG and contribute to its growth in the Middle East.
