Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons MPillay has appointed David Clinch as a Partner to its corporate team in Singapore.
Clinch, who was working with Shearman & Sterling is one of the leading energy and infrastructure lawyers and dealmakers in Asia Pacific. His practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and projects and he advises on transactions and projects across the Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
Nicholas Hanna, the Head Of Corporate in Asia Pacific stated that Clinch’s appointment demonstrated the firm’s commitment to energy and infrastructure clients in the region.
Hanna added, “Clinch has an outstanding reputation as a dealmaker and brings considerable knowledge and capability in the energy and infrastructure sector. He has been at the forefront of many significant renewable energy deals across the world. He will add a further dimension to our corporate offering across the Asia Pacific.”
The firm’s Asia Pacific Head, James Morgan-Payler expressed that Clinch’s was another strategic appointment to deepen the firm’s services to its clients within Asia Pacific.
“He brings extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors at a time of high activity in the region regarding major infrastructure projects, in particular when it comes to renewal of energy infrastructure,” Morgan-Payler stated.

Pinsent Masons MPillay promoted five partners across the region in May 2023. It followed the move with key lateral appointments in Australia, including the launch of practices such as employment and reward, restructuring and insolvency and dedicated work health and safety.
