The leading, full-service Malaysian law firm, Rahmat Lim & Partners has announced the admission of five new Partners, effective 1 January 2026, marking a significant milestone in the Firm’s continued growth and commitment to strengthening its core practice areas.
The newly admitted Partners are Azim Razak, Cheryl Lee, Livia Hong, Neoh Jin Keat, and Jing Shin Yap, each bringing deep expertise and strong client credentials across dispute resolution, real estate, capital markets, employment, and corporate advisory. The promotions reflect the Firm’s focus on recognising talent and reinforcing its leadership bench across key sectors.
Azim Razak, a Partner in the Firm’s Projects & International Arbitration Department, focuses primarily on dispute resolution. He regularly advises and represents clients before all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. His practice also spans adjudication, arbitration, and mediation, where he acts on complex and high-stakes disputes.
Cheryl Lee advises on a broad range of real estate matters, including acquisitions and disposals of real property, leases and tenancies, property joint ventures, real estate investment trusts (REITs), colocation and services agreements, and property-based legal due diligence exercises. She is well-versed in land law and regulatory frameworks and supports clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, from structuring and documentation to execution and compliance.
Livia Hong focuses her practice on capital markets, REITs, and mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience advising on corporate finance and capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), equity securities offerings, and transactions requiring shareholder approval for listed companies. Livia regularly works with issuers, sponsors, underwriters, and institutional investors on both domestic and cross-border matters, and also advises on joint ventures, fund formation, collective investment schemes, and insurance-related matters.
Neoh Jin Keat, a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department, concentrates on corporate, commercial, industrial relations, and employment law disputes. He regularly represents Malaysian and foreign corporations across all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the Labour Court, Industrial Court, and appellate courts. His experience also includes advisory work and corporate restructuring exercises, such as employment due diligence, retrenchment-related town halls, and workforce risk management strategies.
Jing Shin Yap advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign investments, private equity, and general corporate matters. She works with corporate clients, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, and financial institutions on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions across industries including financial services, manufacturing, energy, education, healthcare, and technology. Jing Shin is a recipient of the Public Service Department of Malaysia (JPA) Scholarship and graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) from Monash University, Australia.
