DLA Piper has strengthened its Compliance & Investigations capabilities in Asia with the relocation of Sammy Fang (Partner and Head of Greater China Compliance & Investigations) from Hong Kong to Singapore, effective May 1, 2025.

Sammy, who has been instrumental in building the firm’s Compliance & Investigations practice in Greater China since 2014, will continue to hold his current leadership roles from Singapore. He will also co-lead the firm’s ESG practice in Asia and spearhead the development of the Southeast Asia Compliance and Investigations practice, working closely with Nathan Bush (Partner and Head of Antitrust & Competition and International Trade for Asia).

With over a decade of experience in compliance and investigations, Sammy advises multinational corporations and domestic companies on matters such as product liability, regulatory compliance, internal fraud, white-collar crime, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, cybercrime, and data breaches. His industry expertise spans life sciences, technology, hospitality and leisure, consumer products, and industrials. His cross-border work includes mandates in Mainland China, the US, Hong Kong, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

Commenting on the move, Sammy said,

“As a key market and hub for Southeast Asia, building out our Compliance and Investigations, and ESG offerings in the region from Singapore is an important strategic goal. I am excited by the opportunities in Southeast Asia and look forward to expanding DLA Piper’s footprint in the region, while simultaneously continuing to support my clients in Greater China.”
