Senior Infrastructure experts join Paul Hastings in London

The US global law firm Paul Hastings has announced the hiring of Jessamy Gallagher and Stuart Rowson in London. The duo was global infrastructure co-heads at Linklaters.

Gallagher and Rowson are new hires at a Los Angeles-based firm under the leadership of the new global chair, Frank Lopez. The firm has also recently added a team from Latham & Watkins and a finance partner from Weil Gotshal & Manges in a bid to expand and strengthen its financial and legal capabilities in London.

The duo provides advice to funds and financial sponsors on investing in various types of infrastructure assets, including those in the energy transition and digital infrastructure sectors. These assets can be either regulated or unregulated.

Gallaghers is a lawyer with expertise in M&A transactions in the infrastructure and energy sector. She advises clients such as global pension, infrastructure and fund managers, and FTSE-listed companies on their transactions in this market.

Gallaghers is a highly experienced lawyer, having been ranked as the fourth most active M&A lawyer in EMEA by MergerLinks in 2019.

She has also held leadership roles at her past firm, Linklaters, serving as the head of clients and sectors and as a member of its global executive committee. Additionally, she co-founded the firm's group for funds and financial investors.

Gallaghers has a track record of advising on high-profile and significant transactions in the infrastructure and energy sector. Recently, she advised the National Grid on the sale of its £14bn UK gas distribution business, Cadent, to a Macquarie-led consortium, which was the largest-ever energy and infrastructure deal in the UK.

She also advised Arqiva on the sale of its telecoms division to Cellnex Telecom for £2bn. These deals demonstrate her capability to handle complex and large-scale transactions in the sector and her ability to provide strategic advice to her clients.

Rowson, on the other hand, is a proficient lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the field of financing for the acquisition of energy and infrastructure assets, as well as multi-sourced debt platforms and portfolio financings.

He co-founded Linklaters' funds and financial investors group and has a track record of advising on significant transactions in the sector.

He was involved in advising on the refinancing of the John Laing portfolio acquired by Dalmore and Equitix, and the financing for the acquisition of CapeOmega.

Rowson's extensive experience and expertise in these areas make him well-suited to advise clients on complex financing deals in the energy and infrastructure sector.
