Sherina Petit Joins Stewarts to Lead International Arbitration Practice

Sherina Petit has recently joined Stewarts, a UK-based law firm, where she now heads the International Arbitration team.

She will concentrate on executing a strategic plan aimed at establishing a premier specialist practice in the market, nurturing a diverse team, and extending the department's expertise and geographic reach.

Petit assumes a key role as Stewarts expands its global footprint, taking on the position of Head of India. Her responsibilities will not be confined to India alone, she will also play a key role in advancing the firm's international strategy in regions including Africa, the Middle East, and Singapore. Furthermore, she will be a member of the Stewarts Executive Committee.

Petit's focus will be on high-value, complex disputes, and use her extensive knowledge and expertise to serve as a strategic adviser to clients seeking guidance and support on a global scale.

Petit expressed her delight at joining Stewarts, a leading disputes firm with ambitious plans for the future.

“We have an aggressive, targeted plan to grow the team and become a major force within the London arbitration market. We have a focused international strategy covering South Asia (particularly India and Singapore) and the Middle East, and will also build on the team’s existing expertise in Latin America and Africa. This is just the beginning,” Petit said.

Stuart Dench, Managing Partner, commented: “We are delighted Sherina is joining us to build a market-leading international arbitration practice. We will focus on specific geographies and growing our reputation in the London market. I look forward to working with Sherina to implement these exciting plans.”

Petit joins the existing partners, Daniel Wilmot and Alejandro Garcia, in the arbitration team. Her arrival increases the number of lawyers in the International Arbitration department to 11 and expands the count of partners at Stewarts to 84.
