Seoul-based law firm Shin & Kim has bolstered its bankruptcy, insolvency, and tax advisory capabilities with the addition of two new partners, Dong-kyu Kim and Hun-tae Doh, who joined the firm on February 19. Bringing over 40 years of combined judicial experience to the team, Kim and Doh bolster the firm's expertise in key areas.

Kim, specialising in insolvency cases, boasts a distinguished career as a presiding judge at the Seoul Southern District Court and other major courts in Korea. He will spearhead the firm's newly established corporate restructuring centre, focusing on navigating the rising risks associated with real estate project financing and the ever-growing importance of corporate workouts.

Doh, with 20 years of experience under his belt as a tax judge, joins from the Cheonan branch of the Daejeon District Court. His extensive experience in tax appeal cases, coupled with his five-year stint as the chief judicial researcher at the Supreme Court of Korea's tax division, adds immense value to the firm's tax advisory capabilities.

Commenting on the hires, managing partner Jong-han Oh stated, "Kim and Doh bring invaluable experience and expertise to our insolvency and tax groups, allowing us to provide differentiated legal services to our clients and further strengthen our competitiveness in these areas."
