Taylor Wessing Launches Paris Patent Litigation Practice With Jules Fabre, Marina Jonon, Louise Millot, And Clémence De Marassé-Enouf
Jules Fabre’s area of expertise is patent and supplementary protection certificate litigation, both before the UPC and French courts, and he has experience in coordinating pan-European litigations and market access strategies.
Taylor Wessing has launched a dedicated patent litigation practice in Paris by hiring a group led by partner from Pinsent Masons, Jules Fabre. Fabre led the IP practice group of Pinsent Masons and brings with him counsel Marina Jonon and associate Louise Millot. Later in June, the third associate from A&O Sherman, Clémence de Marassé-Enouf, will arrive.
The new hires are expected to improve Taylor Wessing’s coverage of the increasingly popular Unified Patent Court (UPC). Adding patent capability in Paris completes Taylor Wessing’s coverage of all major patent litigation jurisdictions and buttresses its position as a top-tier firm in the UPC. Paris, being home not only to a local division of the court also houses one of the three courts of the Central Division. The focus of the Paris Central Division is on technologies including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology and chemistry.
Gilles Amsallem, managing partner of Taylor Wessing in Paris, reportedly said: “The calibre of Jules Fabre and his team significantly strengthens our ability to support our clients in strategic litigation, in line with market developments and the growing needs of businesses in terms of protecting innovation.”
Fabre’s specialty is patent and supplementary protection certificate litigation, both before the UPC and French courts, and he has experience in coordinating pan-European litigations and market access strategies. Fabre and his team’s specialty is the life sciences and healthcare sectors.
Fabre reportedly said that Taylor Messing is one of the most active firms before the UPC. “We are extremely happy to further strengthen the firm’s patent capabilities with a team in Paris and to be able to offer our clients a first-class expertise in all of their key jurisdictions in Europe,” he reportedly said.
