Kunal Kapoor, a corporate expert with a focus on energy, has joined Watson Farley & Williams ("WFW") as a Partner in Singapore. He moved from Dentons, where he served as a Partner and co-headed their international energy and infrastructure practice for the greater ASEAN area.

In addition to conventional and renewable energy, LNG, oil and gas, and transportation infrastructure projects are all areas of competence for Kunal.

He focusses on energy transition, upstream M&A, LNG projects and renewable energy. He has worked as an advisor on prospective finance for hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects as well as on data centers and battery storage projects.

Oil giants, project developers, trading firms, funds, strategic and equity investors, host governments, and sponsors in the energy sector are just a few of his clientele.

Leading legal directories Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and IFLR 1000 highly esteem Kunal in his area of practice in the Asia Pacific region; Chambers recently said that he "is talented, perceptive and extremely bright and thoroughly knows what the client requires."

The head of the WFW Asia Projects and Corporate Group, Linh Doan, said: "Kunal is a fantastic lawyer, and his industry experience is unmatched in the area. I believe he will be crucial in helping our customers with their energy transition needs and improving our standing as an authority on the subject throughout the Asia-Pacific and beyond. I'm thrilled to have him join WFW.

Charles Viggers, Office Head WFW Singapore commented: "Kunal joining us is a tremendous addition to our regional practice in one of our strong industries. Singapore is an important center for the Asia-Pacific region, notably for energy and projects. The group and I are eager to collaborate with him.

Henry Stewart, co- head of the WFW Global Energy Sector, said: "Kunal is a game changer for our energy practice in Asia. I look ahead to work closely with him to further rearing up WFW's profile, help bring it in agreement with our market-leading reputation in Europe and the Middle East region."
