The prominent South Korean full-service law firm, Yoon & Yang, has strengthened its global and offshore finance capabilities with the appointment of Young-Joon Cho as partner and Eun Sik Shin as senior foreign attorney. Both join from Bae, Kim & Lee (BKL), bringing decades of experience in cross-border lending, structured finance, and offshore transactions.
Cho and Shin bring extensive expertise in offshore and corporate finance. Cho has over 30 years of experience advising commercial banks, policy lenders, global financial institutions, and securities firms. He has handled more than 1,500 cross-border transactions across 25 jurisdictions, spanning offshore financing, acquisition financing, structured finance, and aviation and maritime financing. Shin has more than 25 years of experience in offshore finance, asset-backed lending, structured finance, and project finance, including foreign currency-denominated bonds, ship finance, and international lending transactions.
At Yoon & Yang, Cho will lead advisory work on offshore finance and global financial regulations, while Shin will oversee international finance projects, including offshore and ship finance. Their appointments also enhance the firm’s capabilities in cross-border anti-money laundering compliance and regulatory matters, reinforcing its leadership in Korea’s traditional financial sector and expanding its influence through collaboration with global financial and investment banking teams.
