The British multinational law firm DLA Piper has announced that its US-based Intellectual Property and Technology practice partner Erin Gibson will be the firm's new chair of the International Trade Commission (ITC) practice.

Gibson has a rich two decades of experience in patent litigation in the ITC and in district courts across the country. She has handled more than 39 ITC investigations as national counsel for her clients, often in disputes that span multiple jurisdictions.

"Erin is highly respected and dedicated to client service, and she consistently delivers outstanding results to our clients," Mark Fowler, global co-chair of DLA Piper's Intellectual Property and Technology practice said.

"Her fresh perspectives and deep insight into the ITC are pivotal to what we are doing at the firm, in driving client success and in delivering seamless service," Fowler added.

She is rated as a champion of diversity in the legal profession and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.

DLA Piper's International Trade Commission practice has decades of experience in representing its clients facing the unique challenges of ITC investigations. It has represented both complainants and respondents in all phases of ITC investigations, including proceedings before US Customs and Border Protection and before Congress, strategically guiding clients to achieve positive results.

Gibson, who also serves as US co-chair of DLA Piper's Technology sector, has often represented Fortune 100 companies in their most complex patent litigation disputes, including coordinating with her colleagues in Europe and Asia in cross-border disputes.
