Ex-TrueRE GC Varun Prabhakar Rejoins Devyani International Limited
Varun Prabhakar has rejoined Devyani International Limited as General Counsel after a brief stint away from the company.
Prabhakar was previously associated with Devyani International Limited for over nine years, during which he held key leadership roles including Head of Legal Department and Legal Head, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. He initially joined the company in February 2016 and played a pivotal role in overseeing legal, compliance, and corporate governance matters until April 2025.
In May 2025, Prabhakar moved to TrueRE - Oriana Power Ltd as General Counsel. Following a nine-month tenure there, he has now returned to Devyani International Limited to take on the role of General Counsel once again.
Confirming the development, Prabhakar said,
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as General Counsel at Devyani International Limited!”
A 2009 graduate of Mewar Institute of Management with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Corporate Laws, Prabhakar is also a member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (2010–2012).
He began his legal career in 2009 and spent his early professional years at Amar Associates, Advocates and Solicitors, followed by roles at Mvkini & Company Advocates & Solicitors and JF Associates Advocates & Solicitors. His transition in-house in 2016 marked the beginning of a long association with Devyani International Limited, where he led the legal and compliance function through significant phases of growth.
Prabhakar’s return signals continuity in leadership within the company’s legal function, reinforcing its focus on governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal oversight as it continues its expansion trajectory.
