India’s Legal Market Sees Mason & Associates and Obhan & Associates Become ‘Obhan Mason’
The prominent Indian law firm, Mason & Associates, and the full-service law firm based in India, Obhan & Associates, have merged their practices in a significant strategic development in India’s legal market to form a newly integrated law firm, Obhan Mason.
The merger brings together complementary strengths across intellectual property, corporate and transactional law, litigation, information technology, media and entertainment, and data protection and privacy, positioning Obhan Mason as a full-service law firm with enhanced scale and sectoral depth.
The combined firm will leverage a strengthened national footprint, expanded client relationships, diversified practice offerings and deeper industry expertise. Through this integration, Obhan Mason aims to reinforce its advisory, regulatory and contentious capabilities while improving operational efficiency through unified systems, processes and governance frameworks.
Essenese Obhan, Founder of Obhan & Associates, will lead the merged firm as Managing Partner, overseeing strategy, operations and client growth. Neel Mason, Founder of Mason & Associates, will transition to the role of Of Counsel, focusing on advocacy, strategic disputes and counsel-led practice areas. Ashima Obhan, Senior Partner at Obhan & Associates, will head the firm’s Corporate Law and M&A practice and will continue to co-chair the TMT practice.
The Mason & Associates team, including Vihan Dang (Partner), Ekta Sharma (Partner) and Khyati Kantawala (Principal Associate), will join Obhan Mason along with their respective teams. Following the merger, Obhan Mason will have a total of 10 partners, and the firms have commenced the integration of practice areas, internal workflows and knowledge infrastructure.
