Lindsey Utrata has been appointed counsel in the Litigation & Trial Department and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice at Latham & Watkins LLP's New York location.

Utrata's expertise lies in assisting clients from a wide range of sectors with managing and enforcing their global trademark portfolios.

"We are thrilled to have Lindsey join Latham and the New York office. Her strong track record of safeguarding international trademark portfolios will bolster our elite expertise in this area and be a huge benefit to our customers," mentioned Marc Jaffe, managing partner of Latham's New York office.

Counseling and representing clients across numerous industries on a range of enforcement and validity concerns, from addressing infringement and dilution accusations to prosecuting and defending opposition and cancellation actions, and coordinating global trademark and copyright portfolios are all within Utrata's wheelhouse of expertise.

Lindsey is an accomplished intellectual property lawyer who has worked on some of the most challenging trademark and brand management cases for clients in a wide variety of sectors. She will be a valuable addition to our business and a great resource for clients because of her understanding of the complexities and difficulties in intellectual property law, according to Jennifer Barry, Global Vice Chair of Latham's Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.

For his part, Utrata said, "I'm happy to join Latham's IP practice as it reinforces its status as a market leader and to cooperate with such a creative, entrepreneurial team."

After working in the trademark department at Colgate-Palmolive Company, Utrata had moved to Latham from Baker McKenzie in New York. While attending UNC-Chapel Hill, she double majored in both law and liberal arts, allowing her to earn a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
