Eagle Robinson, a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright based in Austin, has been appointed to lead patent prosecution and IP transactions in the United States. Mark Wilson, an Austin partner who held this position for more than six years, is replaced by Robinson.

"We decided to increase Eagle's leadership responsibilities within the company since he has done such an exceptional job steering our Innovation Committee," said Norton Rose Fulbright's US Managing Partner, Jeff Cody. "Our IP Transactions and Patent Prosecution group and our clients stand to gain from Eagle's dedication to creative problem-solving and first-rate customer service."

Robinson represents patent owners and petitioners in patent validity trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), which occur after a patent has been issued. He performs intellectual property (IP) due diligence for corporate investments and acquisitions, negotiates joint development agreements and patent licenses, and handles other transactional tasks.

The co-Heads of Intellectual Property in the United States Tim Kenny and Jim Repass said, "Eagle harnesses his legal knowledge and technological abilities to acquire and defend intellectual property assets for customers ranging from well-established enterprises to ambitious start-ups." Mark has done a great job for the team over many years, and the team will be better off with his departure because of his experience and collaborative leadership style.

To paraphrase Felicia Boyd, who heads IP Brands in the United States, "I'm looking forward to working with Eagle as a colleague IP team leader because I respect how he focuses on business solutions when supporting clients and I value what he offers to our work together."

After being named by Patexia as one of the top ten best-performing attorneys defending petitioners in IPR proceedings before the PTAB, Robinson accepted the position of head of the company's IP Transactions and Patent Prosecution divisions with enthusiasm.

This group is well-equipped to secure, protect, and use intellectual property assets to meet the business objectives of our customers, thanks to their combined expertise in patent prosecution, patent validity processes, and IP transactions.
