The commercial law firm based in Malaysia with a global reach, RDS Partnership has strengthened its Energy, Infrastructure, and Projects practice with the appointment of Kamilah Kasim as a Partner.
Kamilah Kasim joins RDS from Rahmat Lim & Partners, where she headed the Energy, Infrastructure, and Projects practice, and was concurrently a Partner at Allen & Gledhill, Rahmat Lim’s associate firm in Singapore. With nearly four decades of experience, she is widely recognised for her expertise in infrastructure, energy, and utilities projects across Malaysia and the broader region.
Saravana Kumar, founding partner and head of Tax, SST (Sales and Service Tax), and Customs at RDS, said,
“Bringing Kamilah on board is a strategic move as we continue to expand our practice and clientele, particularly in light of our business collaboration with Anderson Mori & Tomotsune of Japan. Her experience and standing in the market will be instrumental in supporting our growing international work and meeting the evolving needs of our clients.”
Kamilah’s practice covers the full lifecycle of projects—from tender structuring and contract formation through construction and operations, extending to dispute avoidance, litigation, and arbitration. She has acted on numerous landmark and cross-border projects involving government bodies, state-owned enterprises, multinational sponsors, and financiers, including rail, airports, ports, power developments, and public-private partnerships.
Her approach combines strong practical insight with a focus on risk allocation, clarity, and long-term enforceability of contracts. Kamilah began her career in litigation and arbitration, which continues to shape her perspective in project development.
On her appointment, Kamilah Kasim said,
“I am delighted to join RDS Partnership. The firm’s growing regional presence and commitment to excellence align with my experience in managing complex infrastructure, energy, and project mandates. I look forward to contributing my expertise to the firm’s continued success and supporting clients in achieving their strategic objectives.”
