Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison has hired veteran litigation partners Robert Sperling and Staci Yablon in New York to expand its litigation department. The move ensures its deep relationship with long-standing client Goldman Sachs.

The duo represented Goldman Sachs in several major lawsuits during their tenure at Winston & Strawn, including the investment bank's involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad corruption scandal.

Brad Karp, the chairman of Paul Weiss, said, "Both incredibly impressive lawyers have successfully defended global financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies in some of their most significant, complex litigations. They will be invaluable assets to our clients and our firm."

Jessica Carey, the co-chair of the litigation department at Paul Weiss, while noting the track record of success of the duo, remarked, "Sperling and Yablon are versatile and talented litigators who are trusted to handle their clients' most sensitive, business-critical matters."

Sperling and Yablon have over three decades of experience across a range of disputes and investigations.

Sperling spent more than 20 years at Winston & Strawn. He was previously a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman. A veteran trial lawyer, he advised some of the world's largest financial institutions and companies on high-stakes securities, antitrust and commercial-related litigations.

Yablon worked at Winston & Strawn for over a decade, co-chairing its financial services litigation practice. She was previously an associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf. She also advises financial institutions and global corporations on commercial disputes, white collar and regulatory matters and government investigations.
