TLH, Advocates & Solicitors appoints Mathew George as Of Counsel – Competition Law
The prominent full-service regional law firm in India, TLH, Advocates & Solicitors has announced the appointment of Mathew George as Of Counsel in its Competition Law and Regulatory Practice, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in antitrust advisory, merger control, and complex regulatory litigation.
Mathew George is a seasoned competition and regulatory lawyer with nearly a decade of specialized experience advising on antitrust enforcement, merger control filings, digital markets regulation, and high-stakes competition litigation. His appointment marks a strategic addition to TLH’s growing competition law practice.
An alumnus of Delhi University, George holds an LL.M. from the Brussels Study Centre, equipping him with strong international exposure and a deep understanding of global competition law frameworks.
Over the course of his career, George has built a robust practice handling contentious competition matters before key judicial and regulatory forums, including the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), various High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India.
He has been directly involved in advising on more than 25 merger notifications, covering Form I, Form II, and Green Channel filings across diverse sectors such as technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, financial services, and private equity. His experience spans the full spectrum of competition law proceedings—from pre-merger strategy and regulatory clearances to defending clients in investigations and appellate litigation.
George’s enforcement experience includes handling complex cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, and matters involving vertical restraints. He has represented a wide range of clients including global technology majors, multinational conglomerates, industry associations, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds.
In addition to his advisory and litigation practice, George has actively contributed to competition policy development in India. He has been involved in preparing and presenting submissions before Parliamentary Committees and the CCI, particularly on key legislative initiatives such as India’s proposed Digital Competition Bill and the Competition Law Review Committee.
Prior to joining TLH, Advocates & Solicitors, George practiced as an independent competition law specialist and has previously been associated with leading law firms including Trilegal and Chandhiok & Mahajan.
His addition is expected to further enhance TLH’s ability to provide comprehensive and sophisticated counsel on the evolving landscape of competition law and digital regulation in India.
TLH, Advocates & Solicitors is a leading full-service regional law firm in India, primarily based in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The firm was formerly known as Tatva Legal, Hyderabad and rebranded in June 2025 to establish a distinct identity as a multidisciplinary legal entity.
