Vani Mehta appointed as General Counsel for GE South Asia

Delhi-based Vani Mehta has been appointed as General Counsel (GC) of the General Electric (GE) parent company for South Asia.

She has taken over from John Thaliath who had been in this role for 2 years and has recently in May joined startup unicorn, ZETWERK as its General Counsel.

Vani Mehta has been with GE for over a decade in various senior legal roles at GE having diverse experience working in manufacturing, aviation, wind, healthcare and power sectors across various geographies for over 17 years

In addition to being the General Counsel for South Asia she would also continue to be Managing Counsel for GE Asia Pacific Real Estate. GE's Pan-South Asia legal team is around 15 lawyers in size.

Prior to joining GE, she was inhouse counsel for SAP (Ariba) and started her career with leading and oldest law firm of India Little & Co. and then Fox Mandal before switching to an inhouse role. She earned her bachelor's honors in political science and law degree in 2005 from University of Delhi.

The appointment is effective from June 1.
