Withers has hired partner Zhang Wei as the youngest managing director to head its Hong Kong office, the firm's 17 global offices, strengthening its increasing number of women leaders

She joins women leaders like Margaret Robertson CEO at Withers in the UK, Chair Justine Markovitz in Switzerland and Managing Partner Deborah Barker in Singapore.

She further stated," We observe a clear flow in demand for topmost legal services as businesses in Asia continues to increase. "As an international legal centre, the role of Hong Kong and its close incorporation with Greater China will see further opportunities in the city with strong basics for this development."

In 2014, Zhang joined the firm as a partner in the private client and tax team and was promoted into partnership in 2016. Since 2010, she had worked as an associate at the firm's New York and New Haven offices respectively.

Advising individuals with residences, assets and wealth planning vehicles in manifold jurisdictions, she emphases on refined tax and wealth planning matters for high net-worth individuals, their families and fiduciaries.

Migrating individuals, expatriating from or investing in the US, or who seeks compliance requirements with US tax and reporting obligations are the advising arena of Zhang.
